Recently I had a virtual tea-time with

Ethan from Human Pursuits
which was the perfect chance to spill about my love of style, toast and other things.

Sorry in advance for the cringe photos.

Burnt Out Toaster by Jessica Walsh

ES: My first question is: why Style Toast? It’s such a great name.

BD: I just love toast. Honestly, I used to have another Substack called Harriet. The theme was “three-martini lunch,” which of course involves toasting. But it’s not just alcohol. Toast is my favorite food – I also think it’s a funny name to call something.

ES: What’s your preferred way to prepare toast?

BD: PB & J. I like raspberry preserves and Jiff creamy peanut butter.

ES: What kind of bread are we working with?

BD: My go-to bread is so boring. I buy Trader Joe’s bread or Dave’s Killer Bread; the three-seed is my favorite. If I’m feeling fancy, I like to buy Orwashers Righteous Rye at the farmer’s market.

ES: Who was your first fashion inspiration or influence?

BD: Honestly probably Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. My friends and I always watched the VHS tapes, and I had a friend named Ashely. In third grade, we went as them for Halloween. That same year I was voted best dressed in our class. I never really let that go. Laughs.
