In January 2023 I was on a freelance styling job when the producer—who also happens to be a very talented ceramist—introduced me to Gohar World. At the time I had been neglecting my own homewares concept store and feeling a little uninspired. Gohar World was unlike anything I had ever seen: whimsical, chic, and innovative—a domestic surrealist’s dream.

This year, I am playing holiday hostess and have been thinking a lot about the vibe of the party. Without further ado, let’s set the table.

The tablecloth is foundational—it is the backdrop for the entire tablescape. While I could keep it classic with a simple white cloth that would look très chic with lived in wine spills or opt for a lovely hand-embroidered piece, I’m leaning toward something more magical, like this pink organza fabric I found on Etsy. It’s soft and dreamy, reminiscent of cotton candy or a shimmering sunset.

When it comes to table linens, I adore cloth napkins. Right now, I’m eyeing the Knife & Fork Hand-Embroidered Set by Oeuvres Sensibles and these scalloped embroidered napkins from Misette. Atelier Saucier is another favorite of mine—I used to stock their pieces on Far Out Home. These cheeky cocktail napkins, in particular, have my heart. For extra flair, I might even fold them into fun shapes to really impress my guests.
