a provençal wardrobe with rosie assoulin for target
We’re deep in the summer heat. All I want to wear is light-as-air cotton, romantic silhouettes, and coastal neutrals.
Thankfully, Rosie Assoulin’s new collection for Target has arrived. I styled my favorite pieces for a Provençal escape.
The first item in my suitcase would be this cotton poplin maxi dress. Though it comes with spaghetti straps, I styled it strapless with oversized metal flower earrings from the Chloé Spring 2026 runway. I’d wear it to a seaside dinner with crisp white wine, linguine with clams, and a 10 pm bedtime.
For shopping the open-air markets, I’d wear this off-the-shoulder burgundy top with crochet-knit shorts, a silk scarf that picks up the same wine-toned shade, and matching sandals. Don’t leave without an abundance of cherries for around the pool later.
This is the perfect look for an afternoon apéro. Windows open, oysters on the half shell, and maybe a little Champagne. The cotton-denim dress feels substantial but remains light enough for the heat. Chloé jelly sandals add textural contrast, while a printed scarf draped around the neck or shoulders brings a little drama. Retro, ’70s-inspired sunglasses complete the Jane Birkin summer fantasy.
And for my favorite outing, wandering through the lavender fields before popping into town for ice cream, I’d wear this playful yet elegant striped drop-waist dress. Quintessentially French with dark Wayfarer shades and a net bag that nods to the catch of the day.
Provence may have to wait, but the wardrobe doesn’t.
