half baked 005
celebrity substacks, prada’s ongoing influence, and the return of late-aughts aesthetics
Editor’s note: 2026 is off to a complicated start. There have been real highs and real lows, and it’s only been ten days. Even so, I feel confident in my vision for Style Toast and where it’s heading. This week marks one year since I launched quizzes, which changed the course of this project in ways I didn’t fully anticipate. It’s pushed me to see my work, and this platform, with a new sense of perspective and possibility. I am very excited for whats to come.
Let’s have a look at December screenshots.

Vice Grip
This tweet from October feels incredibly relevant to my January mindset. It’s all about abundance and balancing your vices.

If you fancy a post-pilates smoke instead, you could keep them in this incredibly beautiful Fabergé case. According to this post by Macarena Blanco , it’s marked August Hollming, St. Petersburg, 1899–1904. It’s not available for purchase, but I found this for the social smokers and this pretty engraved version if you want the look. And just for fun, here are two of the real deal for your viewing pleasure.

These meringue swans by The Gemini Bake are soooo gorgeous. I don’t know if I have the piping skills to make these, but I might just try. It will turn my four cups of coffee into delicate works of art.

Fine Points
I think crochet and hand-done details will be huge this year. This is based purely on the sheer number of people I know personally who are crocheting something right now, plus the hobbies of some of my favorite people online. For instance, clothesarefriends has taken up needle pointing.

Recently I discovered this creator based out of Japan who knits lace into stunning little bags. They’re hard to get your hands on, but I’m watching closely for the next drop.

The queen of refined elegance has made it to Substack. I’ve been enjoying Kelly Rutherford’s notes strategy in particular. She has great taste. Love these Ferragamo Vera pumps. Plus, she’s always links the main product feature at the top of her posts, even though they’re paywalled.

Also, not sure if she’s a Lana fan, but I loved this note, which I assume was actually about the timelessness of the outfit. I love both, so the target audience has been reached.
The styling of this Charlotte Chesnais bracelet stopped me in my tracks. I’m forever coveting her pieces. I’m also in love with this Jade Lips Bow bracelet, which is absolutely going on my wish list.

Obsessed with the way we’re all interpreting the Prada FW 2026 runway styling. The fur scarf is the star of the season. I especially love the pairing of brown fur with a black or dark grey coat.

This is my new favorite quote: The gardener is always a futurist. Time, love, and patience reward you with the flower.
