The LWD
Always inspired by Louise Trotter’s Bottega. Her collections haven’t received quite the same hype or widespread praise as some of the other recent creative director appointments, but I really love what she’s doing. The Bottega woman is elegant and sophisticated, but she still knows how to have a good time.
In the same spirit, the Staud Leda chiffon maxi dress is so “Rihanna that one time,” as Rebecca Jarrett put it. Thank you to Taylor Barnett for bringing it to my attention.
Though I’m obsessed with the Bottega dress, I think you could DIY the look with this top from Jacquemus and a cocoon skirt from Toteme.
Cuffing Season
Leandra Medine Cohen always has the best jewelry, but I'm completely enamored with the Alexei Hay Romani Single Stone Cuff.
And this double stone is divine.
Footloose
This screenshot is from @bonappelise on Instagram.. The shoes were part of Inner Rooms, an exhibition at the House of Shinsegae Heritage Museum featuring reimagined Joseon-era artifacts. If you like the look, the Hereu Mantera sandal is similar.
As previously mentioned, I think we are collectively moving away from our flop era and into the barely-there sandal or shoe.
Evelina (@evikrv on Instagram) is a designer to watch. Her sock shoe appeared on my Explore page, and I’m completely enamored with her cohesive, exploratory, yet entirely wearable designs.
Maybe some beat-up Chanels?
Or these naked shoes, complete with worn-in, dirty footprints, shown at Michael Rider’s Celine men’s Spring 2027 show. For now, you might try the Literary Sport x Xero Shoes collaboration for a similar shape. These or these are also good alts.
I Love Lamp
I can’t stop thinking about home decor, and lately the feed has graced me with so many fantastic finds. My friend Sivim Ly designed this insane Octopus Lamp. She’s an incredibly talented ceramicist who has recently started exploring new objects for the home. I already have a couple of her vases, but I’m very much coveting this lamp.
Manifesting that this insane 1970s Murano chandelier finds its way into my life.
Fringe Benefits
I spotted these Mango earrings on Courtney Grow’s Instagram, and of course they’ve already sold out. They’re very reminiscent of this pair from Chanel and, naturally, these from Phoebe Philo. But let’s not forget Justine Clenquet, whose Moon Earrings hit the same note.
I absolutely need this new jewelry case from Sophie Bille Brahe, now available in Swiss-dot form on Moda Operandi.
I don’t remember where I pulled this from, maybe someone’s Substack, but it isn’t clear from the screenshot. Sorry! Regardless, I think the velvet-fringed hanger needs to make a comeback.
The ornateness of the hanger reminds me how differently clothes were cherished in the past. I think we need to return to owning fewer, better things. I notice this every time I switch over my closet. I pull pieces out from past seasons and remember how much I still love them. This summer, I haven’t felt especially compelled to buy much because I already have pieces I love that suit the season.
Things of quality have no fear of time, etc.
